Alcohol support services stretched, as Tasmanians spend record amount on booze during COVID pandemic

New data has revealed Tasmanians are spending more on alcohol than ever before, and support services are already feeling the effects.

In March last year when the state’s COVID lockdown began, Tasmanians spent $35.7 million on alcohol, up $8.4 million dollars on the previous March ($27.3 million spent in March 2019). Read more at: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-15/tas-rehab-services-overwhelmed-during-pandemic/13153924
