Stephen Wade is a Liberal Party of Australia member of the Legislative Council in the Parliament of South Australia.
After graduating in Law and Economics from the University of Adelaide, he worked as a parliamentary adviser at State and Federal level, including for former Liberal Health Minister, Dr Michael Armitage.
He went on to work in corporate governance and on a range of Boards, and was made a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Stephen has a long-term commitment to social inclusion, in particular people living with disability. He served as Chair of Julia Farr Services Inc (2003-2006), then the largest disability service provider in South Australia.
Stephen was appointed to the Legislative Council in May 2006, and served as a Shadow Minister from April 2007. He is currently Minister for Health and Wellbeing, covering health, ageing, mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention.
Stephen and his wife live in the house of two cats – Lily and Hodge – in the Adelaide Hills. He enjoys travel and bushwalking.
