Biography

Dr James Rose is a forensic social anthropologist and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where he coordinates the Indigenous Data Network initiative. Dr Rose specialises in Indigenous population dynamics, kinship culture, social network analysis, geospatial information systems, and data governance. He holds a PhD in Population and Global Health from the University of Melbourne and has authored over 60 papers and reports to Australia’s Federal Court, state courts and Crown Solicitors, federal tribunals, state, territory and federal government agencies and departments, Indigenous-controlled community organisations including Aboriginal health service providers, cultural institutions, and others.
