Keynote: Indigenous research and therapeutic perspectives on healing complex trauma

Drawing on current research and 10 years of therapeutic experience supporting Aboriginal clients, Dr Graham Gee will explore different aspects of healing complex trauma within Indigenous contexts. He will discuss some of the international and Indigenous research that has identified different domains of complex trauma that practitioners need to be aware of. Then he will explore some of the models and proposed phases of healing complex trauma, including therapeutic observations and personal reflections about some of the processes and challenges involved, including considerations related to alcohol and drug use.
